Clinical Physician Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Physician Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will provide thorough evaluations and treatment to adult patients dealing with substance use disorders. You'll assess incoming patients for admission, determine the appropriate level of care, and manage ongoing health concerns within residential, rehabilitation, or detox settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient evaluations, reviewing relevant history and performing health assessments based on symptoms.
• Identify patient needs and make accurate diagnoses by analyzing clinical presentations, history, and findings.
• Perform necessary tests, including urine, blood work, and glucose monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians to create a prioritized and agreed-upon care plan following practice protocols.
• Implement comprehensive treatment plans, including diagnostic tests, medications, non-pharmacological treatments, patient education, and referrals when needed.
• Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and adjust care plans as required to reach optimal mental health goals.
• Provide patients with educational materials to help them make informed decisions about their health, from prevention to treatment.
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment and advocate for patients at all levels-individual, community, and beyond.
• Work with other healthcare professionals to offer well-rounded, comprehensive care.
• Maintain detailed, confidential, and accurate medical records.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Active and valid New York State Physician Assistant (PA) license.
• Current registration as a professional PA in good standing.
• DEA license.
• Compliance with NY Department of Drug and Alcohol Program requirements for performing patient history and prescribing medication.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least five years of related experience.
