LPN Unit Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities and Key Tasks:

• Works under direct supervision, following the state-specific Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and professional nursing judgment.
• Delivers nursing care to patients/residents needing long-term or rehabilitative services.
• Gathers patient/resident data, observes, and reports significant information related to their care.
• Implements and assesses the patient/resident care plan according to state-specific guidelines.
• Directs and supervises nursing staff as required by state-specific regulations.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of documentation standards.
• Understands and manages the setup, maintenance, and operation of equipment like monitors, infusion devices, and drainage devices.
• Ensures confidentiality and respects patient/resident rights at all times.
• Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers as needed.
• Conducts oneself professionally in accordance with unit and facility policies.
• Works rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Responds to emergencies, including initiating CPR and safeguarding patients/residents from injury.
• Contributes to the formulation and review of nursing care plans.
• Evaluates and adjusts care as needed.
• Provides general patient care, education, and discharge planning.
• Adheres to all facility policies and procedures.
• Ensures accurate documentation of medications and therapies.
• Coordinates patient care and demonstrates leadership and effective communication.
